2010 FOURTH
ANNUAL THREE VILLAGE Sherri & David Seyfert |
The Three Village APS Type 1 Auction to raise money to fund research for APS Type 1 is set for Nov 6, 2010 at the Setauket N.Y. Rte 25A firehouse . The National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) has sponsored a grant specifically for APS Type 1. This is a rare disease that attacks the endocrine glands of the body. It usually develops in young children and continues throughout their lives. Due to the rarity of this disease until last November there was no research being done for this disease. In 2007 and 2008 APS families raised enough money for NORD to execute proposals to research companies and physicians interested in finding a cure. In 2008 two groups were selected to begin research in two separate areas regarding APS type 1: The Johns Hopkins Autoimmune Center Department of Pathology/Division of Immunology and The Department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of California, San Francisco. Now we need your help more than ever in order to continue research and help all those living with APS Type 1. We are asking companies such as yours to make a donation on behalf of APS type 1. All donations will be recognized as donated from your establishment at the basket raffle and on our event website www.fielddepth.com/apstype1benefit (with links to your businesss website). Donations can be made several ways: - A monetary donation made directly to
NORDs APS Type 1 Restricted Grant in honor of our
son Matthew. Donations
and money raised at the event will be used for the sole
purpose of funding APS Type 1 research. Our project
goal is to raise enough money to continue to fund
research, increase awareness about the disease, and
eventually, ease the lives of those who have APS Type
1. If you have any questions you may contact the
project group chairman, Sherri Seyfert at 631-751-3732 or
