2008 Three Village APS Type 1 Benefit Business Donation Information Sherri & David Seyfert |
On October 18, 2008 we are planning our second annual fundraiser to raise money to fund research for APS Type 1. The National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) has sponsored a grant specifically for APS Type 1. This is a rare disease that attacks the endocrine glands of the body. It usually develops in young children and continues throughout their lives. Two years ago my 8 year old was diagnosed with the disorder after a 2 1/2 minute seizure while with his kindergarten class. He currently has two glands affected. There is currently no research being done for this disease. In 2007 families raised enough money for NORD to execute proposals to research companies and physicians interested in finding a cure. In 2008 we will have established The APS Type 1 Foundation and are committed to finding a cure. We are looking for companies such as yours to make a donation on behalf of APS type 1. Donations can be made directly to NORDs APS Type 1 Restricted Grant in honor of Matthew, as a match donation with our event, or products for baskets and gift certificates that can be used at the basket auction/raffle. We would like to reach our goal of $50,000 (+) if possible. This money will help us to continue funding the research grant held by NORD. If your business is interested in donating to this project we would greatly appreciate your input. All donations would be recognized as donated from your establishment at the basket raffle being held on October 18, 2008. This letter and our letter of Thank you indicating your exact donation are sufficient documentation of your donation for tax purposes. These donations will be used for the sole purpose and benefit for APS Type 1 research. No donations will be awarded to participants, volunteers of NORD, or the Seyfert Family. Our project goal is to raise enough money to continue to fund research, to increase awareness about the disease and eventually ease the suffering of many children afflicted with APS Type 1. If you have any questions you may contact the project group chairman, Sherri Seyfert at 631-682-5550 or mistydog04@aol.com. If you wish to have further information on the nature of the disease please visit our website at www.apstype1.org. Thank you in advance for your consideration and support. Sincerely, The Seyfert Family and Friends |
