Dear Friends,

            We discovered or son's illness three years ago when he was just 6.  It has been a tremendous struggle as parents to watch our son adjust to the changes his body has undergone because of APS Type 1 (Autoimmune Polyglanduar Syndrome).  Matthew's year has been filled with ups and downs.  His hospitalizations were kept to a minimum, thank goodness, and while we had some intense scares regarding his health this year, his spirits remain high.  We are so proud of him.
            We look forward to a wonderful future for Matthew, and because of people like you, he and all of those who live with APS Type 1 have the hope that one day there will be a cure for this disease.
